Faster Installation: Installing macOS from a USB drive is generally faster than downloading the entire installation package over the internet, particularly if you have a slow or unreliable internet connection. This is beneficial in areas with limited or no internet access or if you want to perform the installation offline for any reason. Offline Installation: Creating a bootable USB installer allows you to install macOS Sonoma without requiring an internet connection. You can use the same USB installer on each Mac instead of downloading the installation files separately for each machine. Multiple Macs: If you have multiple Macs that need to be upgraded or have macOS Sonoma installed, a bootable USB installer can save you time and bandwidth. It enables you to erase your Mac's hard drive and install the operating system from scratch, which can help resolve persistent issues, eliminate malware, or give your Mac a fresh start. Clean Installations: When you want to perform a clean installation of macOS Sonoma on your Mac, a bootable USB installer is essential. This is especially helpful when your Mac's operating system is corrupted or facing serious issues. If your Mac encounters issues or becomes unresponsive, you can boot from the USB installer to troubleshoot and potentially resolve problems. Recovery and Troubleshooting: A bootable USB installer serves as a valuable recovery tool. Here's why it's useful to make a bootable USB installer for macOS Sonoma: ![]()

In this example, it may seem that these perform the same function. Let’s take a look at an example: # Comparing != and not in Python There are some key differences here, however. It may seem that we can use the not equal operator in Python interchangeably with the not keyword. One of the great things about Python is the ability to use plain-English words to write your code. Python Not Equal Operator Versus Not Keyword != is available in both Python 2 and Python 3īecause the operator has been deprecated in Python 3, to future proof your code (if you’re still running Python 2), it’s better to use !=.Python 2 had two not equal operators available: The equality operator checks for equality and will return a True if the values are equal to one another. The expression represents the inverse of the equality operator, =. Because that’s not the case, the expression returns True. We can see that when we evaluate whether or not 1 is equal to 2. Let’s take a look at an example: # A Basic Example of the Not Equal Operator Return False if the two expressions are equal.Return True if the two expressions are not equal. The Python not equal operator is written as != and returns a boolean value evaluating if the expressions are not equal. The acquisition is expected to be dilutive to earnings per share for fiscal 2017. Its hard to really beat free stuff and Trello is right up there. I like to think of it as a Swiss Army knife for Project Management.Ĥ) Its mostly free. You can use Trello to manage projects in many different ways. The use of the boards and lists also helps for those that need deep project management featuresģ) Trello has some hidden gems such as free downloadable boards, a Calendar view for lists vs using the standard board view, Power Ups and easy integration with email, shortcuts and more. While other platforms may have to do lists of sorts, with Trello's you get a checklist for each card, which can be a task with sub tasks. It is easy on the eye and relatively straightforward to use, but let down by its lack of reporting and time-tracking. Trello's simplicity aids in its overall feel and use.Ģ) Trello's cards & lists allow you to really go in depth with project planning. Trello is an excellent lightweight project management tool. Its functions just work, whether its drag and drop, moving cards across lists, or setting up boards, you can easily get started using Trello in minutes. After being introduced to it 3 years ago, its the one todo list app that I keep coming back to.ġ) The intuitive design of Trello makes it easy to get started. Trello is an easy to use to-do list/project management app. There are a few search bars scattered throughout the various menus and I can never remember which one is going to let me search for the card/list I'm actually after. Searching for cards and list could be simplified. There are buttons scattered everywhere across the top of the screen, and it's not clear why they are there nor what they do. The UI of everything other than the lists and cards is also unintuitive. Moving any items between boards is a bit of a nightmare, and I wish I could somehow drag-and-drop things between boards the same way I can do with everything else in the software. ![]() Navigating between boards is not as responsive or simple as navigating between cards and between lists. The only way to do this is by installing some questionable plugins that may or may not be paid products, when this feature feels like it should be built-in. Sometimes I want all my lists on the screen. Sometimes I only want 2 or 3 lists filling my screen. I don't like how rigid the sizes of lists are. Arcade is a bit closer to classic loop packs, but it offers a modifier key functionality that is designed to let you “play” the loops and you can layer your own samples in and modify the presets which (to me at least) can take you a long way towards coming up with something that’s your own. Tracklib offers an interface where you can take a sample and put it in the context of a beat, download it and then use it in your song. Although these are all quite different libraries, I see quite a few similarities in how you could end up with the same sample as someone else. Personally I don’t use Splice myself anymore, and the options that interest me are the likes of Tracklib, Output Arcade & playable Kontakt vocal libraries. My knowledge of this area is a bit hazy, but I have heard that people have been hauled up for using Splice vocals. A word of warning though – these are free, so it’s likely that someone has already used it (again, manipulate the vocals). For those of us who are playing around with this as a hobby (aka: popping a few tunes online now & then), what is a sensible approach to using vocal samples specifically that has you covered if you want to sling some tunes up on Youtube / Soundcloud / Bandcamp / Spotify or whatever? Nothing better than some free vocal packs to get you started. Want new ideas on how to process samples creatively? Check out our extensive guide here □ The Best Free Vocal Samples Packs □ Now let’s dive into some of the best free and paid vocal packs out there! The tale itself is a decent one - players that have gone through a number of Silent Hill stories before will gain a new perspective on the communities bordering Toluca Lake. As Alex investigates his family's disappearance and the incidents going on, he eventually discovers the dark secret of Shepherd's Glen, its connection to Silent Hill, and how his family plays a significant role in these events. People have been disappearing in increasing numbers, including Alex's father and little brother, the streets are shattered and in disarray and strange creatures roam the town. Once he eventually gets back to his hometown of Shepherd's Glen (thanks to a quick cameo of a previous Silent Hill character), he discovers that things are truly bad at home and only getting worse. Homecoming is the story of Alex Shepherd, a recently discharged soldier who has disturbing dreams that seem to plague him during his waking moments, many revolving around his younger brother Joshua. While the monsters and strange environments of the game return, the overall experience just isn't scary, which is a major letdown for a title with such a great horror pedigree. Unfortunately for the series, the latest installment from Konami and Double Helix, Silent Hill: Homecoming, manages to drain the emotional and psychological elements from the game. That, in turn, imparted a sense of panic and concern in the player because they weren't guaranteed to emerge from a fight unscathed. ![]() Whether it was wandering the fog enshrouded streets of Silent Hill or the rusty, industrialized hallways of the Otherworld, the characters were normal people - not fighters - stranded in a situation that was completely out of their control, forced to survive any way they could against unnatural monsters. ![]() The Silent Hill franchise has always been known for its ability to trip the player's psychological levers, instilling a significant amount of unease, fear and even dread at the situations that they find themselves in. ![]() Unfortunately, if you didn’t already have a Recovery HD partition from a previous Lion installation, and the Mountain Lion installer can’t create the partition, you can’t add it later. So not everyone will get this useful feature. ![]() In addition, if your drive hasĪ non-standard partition scheme-for example, if it’s part of a RAID, or if you partitioned the drive using Boot Camp Assistant and then tweaked the drive’s partitions later-the installer won’t be able to create Recovery HD. I say “attempts” because the installer is not always successful. When you install Mountain Lion on a drive, the installer automatically attempts to repartition that drive to create the invisible Recovery HD partition. Why you might not have a Recovery HD partition In fact, because Recovery HD is a separate partition-and one that’s invisible even to Disk Utility-recovery mode would be available at startup even if you were to erase your Mac’s startup drive. The idea behind recovery mode is that if you ever have problems with your Mac’s startup volume, you can boot from Recovery HD and perform some basic troubleshooting procedures without the need for an OS X installation DVD or thumb drive, or a separate bootable drive. (It was called Lion Recovery under Lion.) When you install Mountain Lion or Lion, the installer creates an invisible, bootable, 650MB partition-a portion of a drive the operating system treats as a separate volume-on your startup drive called Recovery HD that includes a few essential utilities for fixing problems, restoring files, browsing the Web, and even reinstalling the operating system. Recovery mode, officially called OS X Recovery. A major feature that debuted in Lion (OS X 10.7) and continues in Mountain Lion (OS X 10.8) is one I hope you’ll never need to use: This, combined with chain-wide inventory down 14% from last year while many independent retailers are sitting on unsold inventory, gives Signet a competitive advantage. “Once they reach full maturity, which takes a couple of years, we have about $15 million per door that is very significant.”Īcross all its banners, the company has leaned into newness that stimulates customers to come in, browse and buy, with sell-through of new SKUs up by 30% in the third quarter. “These are very valuable stores for us,” Drosos said. ![]() The chain was acquired in late 2021 with 22 stores Signet’s added seven stores since then to bring the total to 30 Diamonds Direct stores.
